The second location I feel worth mentioning might appeal to those of you who are a little less adventurous. The Hotel Manor is a restaurant that offers outdoor dining with a fantastic view. If you've never been there, it is well worth the time it takes to get there. It's about a 45 minute drive to get there from campus but the views along the mountain road are just as enjoyable as the final destination. If you do happen to be feeling adventurous, Rails to Trails will be right along the road to the restaurant and you can go biking. The fishing is also said to be great and you can go rafting, canoeing, or tubing too. Before going to the restaurant, it might be a good idea to call ahead and make sure the patio is open. The inside is nice, but nothing compared to the outside. Unfortunately for this one, it's probably best to wait until the weather warms up! The address for the Hotel Manor is below and you can MapQuest the directions:

Zindel Park

Almost anyone who enjoys the outdoors, hiking, or just walking the dog can appreciate Zindel Park. It is only a few miles out of Lock Haven in McElhatten. The views are amazing and if you have a dog, they'll love it as well! Simply take 220 North to the McElhatten exit and turn right. The road will soon turn into a dirt road and where you will see a gate and can drive no farther. Here there is a parking lot and from and you can follow the road on foot. There are many things to check out including the former gatekeepers house and Keller Reservoir. Small streams and bridges scatter the trail and add to the other beautiful views. If you go on a weekend, expect to see others and don't plan to go alone. If you're like me, and after a while all of the trees start to look the same, it could be easy to get lost once the main road splits into smaller trails. Have fun and be careful! If you need more information let me know!
