Almost anyone who enjoys the outdoors, hiking, or just walking the dog can appreciate Zindel Park. It is only a few miles out of Lock Haven in McElhatten. The views are amazing and if you have a dog, they'll love it as well! Simply take 220 North to the McElhatten exit and turn right. The road will soon turn into a dirt road and where you will see a gate and can drive no farther. Here there is a parking lot and from and you can follow the road on foot. There are many things to check out including the former gatekeepers house and Keller Reservoir. Small streams and bridges scatter the trail and add to the other beautiful views. If you go on a weekend, expect to see others and don't plan to go alone. If you're like me, and after a while all of the trees start to look the same, it could be easy to get lost once the main road splits into smaller trails. Have fun and be careful! If you need more information let me know!
This place looks awesome! I would love to get out to Zindel Park when the weather is nice. I also like the pictures, it paints a very good picture as you describe the park and how to get there!
ReplyDeleteIts the only thing thats nice about central PA is that there are alot of beautiful parks and wildlife to see.
ReplyDeleteZindel Park is awesome! I've spent a lot of time there, but have not been back in recent years. I know they have done a lot to make it beautiful again and continue to improve it! Maybe we could have our BACSIT party there this year!
ReplyDeleteThis park sounds amazing! I can't wait for the warmer weather to check it out. I'm really looking forward to future posts to see where else you are going to talk about!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I've heard about this area, but I've never gotten the chance to go there. I believe I'll make a trip out there this summer. I recently just made a trip out to the Rocky Mountains National Park. I'm always excited to try out new outdoors experiences such as this.
