Bald Eagle State Park

Bald Eagle State Park offers something for almost everyone. It is located only 20 minutes from campus and is open year round. The 5,900 acre park offers plenty of the following activities:
  • hunting
  • fishing
  • hiking
  • swimming
  • cross country skiing
  • sledding
  • boating
  • picnicking
  • ice fishing
  • ice skating
  • wildlife watching
Of course these are the typical things everyone not from around here thinks us locals alwaysss do but still...it's fun and worthy of the time it takes to check it out. The park also offers some great views and a "beach" for those of you stuck in Lock Haven for the summer!

The website for the park is below and it has the address so you can use mapquest for directions. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/baldeagle.aspx#recreation

Hope you enjoy!

  1. I really enjoy B.E.S.P. So does my family. Growing up close to here, we've always had an active role there. Thank you once again for posting about the area:)

  2. My in-laws take our boys to this park all the time in the spring, summer, and fall. They swim, ride bikes, picnic, etc. They love it. The water wasn't too great for swimming this past year for some reason, but otherwise it has been just a fantastic place for them to go with the kids. It is also a nice place to have a large group picnic. There are place to play vollyball or tag football, etc.
